Last night’s AFL Hall of Fame presentation saw eight deserving inductees take their places alongside past greats, but North Melbourne champion Wayne Carey again missed out.
The eight men honoured were Mark Bickley, Paul Salmon, Guy McKenna, Chris Langford, Ken Hands, Peter Carey, Bill Morris and Ross Oakley.
All have had long and stories careers in football and have been brilliant contributors to the game.
Wayne Carey’s case had been pushed in recent times by current North Melbourne president James Brayshaw.
His case has been the most controversial of recent times, with a series of legal issues making the AFL less likely to induct him.
While Brayshaw has gone on the record saying Carey has completed his rehabilitation, others have argued that it is still too soon to induct the great centre half forward.
